The carbon footprint represents the total quantity of CO2-emissions in a given year. They are calculated in accordance with the standards of the GHG protocol and ISO 14064-1. The carbon footprint is divided into various energy carriers for our business activities that are subdivided into groups (scopes):
- Scope 1: CO2-emissions caused by internal business activities, or direct CO2-emissions
- Scope 2: CO2-emissions caused by, for example, generating the electricity used by the organisation, or indirect CO2-emissions
- Scope 3: CO2-emissions that originate from sources that the company neither owns nor manages. These are also indirect CO2-emissions
